Wanda May Hoag

May 5, 1925 - January 31, 2024

Wanda May Hoag went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, January 31st, at 98 years of age. She was the daughter of Annie (nee Hunt) and Raymond Wright. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Walter for 63 years. She was the loving mom of Patricia Hoag and Karen (Lester) Brooks, and adoring grandmother of Jamieson and Jordan. In her younger years she worked at Sears and the Bell Telephone Switchboard in Picton as well as the Bank of Commerce in Bloomfield. Her most cherished vocation was in being a stay-at-home mom to her daughters. Wanda enjoyed travelling and visited Alaska, the Caribbean, the British Isles, Hawaii, Europe, and cruised the east and west coast of Canada and the U.S. She loved music, drama, and dance and really appreciated the many trips to the Stratford Festival.  Wanda delighted in making and sending cards, blessing many by her thoughtfulness in remembering the significant events in their lives, and helping them know that, even in a pandemic, they weren’t forgotten. If desired, donations to Emmanuel Church, Hospice Prince Edward, or Operation Smile in memory of Wanda would be appreciated by the family.  Interment and a celebration of Wanda’s life will be held in the spring.  Arrangements entrusted to Rushnell Funeral Homes – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450).
